The Mall at Barnes Crossing will reopen Thursday at 10 a.m.
The 821,000-square foot shopping center has been closed since Monday’s tornado tore through Tupelo.
While the mall did not sustain any major damage – a few signs were destroyed – it has been unable to open because there hasn’t been any power.
Here’s what mall general manager Jeff Snyder posted earlier:
Thanks to days of hard work by TVA, Tombigbee Electric, Tupelo W&L, and others, Mall at Barnes Crossing has power. We will reopen Thursday morning at 10:00AM. Thanks for your patience. Social media has been the best method of getting information to you. Thank for your interest and assistance in sharing with others. Many of our 1500 employees have been relying on Facebook and Twitter to hear when they can resume work. Thanks again, Jeff Snyder.
