And, would you believe that Repubs still proclaim to be God's Only People (GOPERS)? But, as I see it, Jesus Christ will never return to Earth because He is shocked , ashamed and dismayed of the GOPER mind-set! --AB

On Fridays Radio Program, Bryan Fischer reiterated his call to ban immigration to the United States from Muslim-majority nations because "while there are moderate Muslims, no one has yet developed a error-free way to tell the difference between the Muslims we have to worry about and the ones we don’t. Until that day comes, we must be cautious about them all."

Obama Is Back[He's "Sliding" Right Back Into The Whte House Despite Tim Wildmon's Daily Journal Article]

Tim Wildmon is working very hard to try to get President Obama defeated in the 2012 election. But, it’s really nothing new. In 2007-2008 Wildmon and Editor Joe Rutherford of the Tupelo Daily Journal prepared a document bashing Obama over some right-wing nonsense. I obtained a copy of it for Obama’s next election in 2012. Stay tuned! – AB

"OBAMA IS BACK"

By Robert Reich, HP, 10/17/12, Re-posted by Abratt, 10/18/12

"Tuesday night our president was articulate and forceful -- in sharp contrast to his performance in the first presidential debate. He stated his beliefs. He defended his record. He told America where he wanted to take the nation in his second term."

"And he explained where Romney wanted to take us."

For example:...

"The President was surgical in his dissection of Romney's rambling, repetitive, and pointless arguments. Romney found himself in the worst possible situation. He was facing a President who knew what he was talking about from his record, while Romney's record is one of flip flops/course changes/ misdirection/distortions and outright lies. Romney's numbers simply do not add up and hopefully the American voters"  Read More

Reader Comment: [So True of The Religious-Right]

“Ironically, the Fallwell, Dodson, Robertson generation in their panic to preserve their version of christianity have done more damage to the faith than any of its enemies. They were really culture warriors raging against their loss of power and privilage with civil rights, women's liberation and sexual freedom and using religion as the fig leaf to justify their agenda.

The central message of Jesus is love, acceptance, service, sacrifice and reconciliation with God and each other. But Dodson and company shoved that message into the closet and replaced it with judgement, hate and control, wielding the republican party like a club to try and force people back into a 1950's world that never was.

You now have a couple generations who have grown up thinking christianity is just a hateful political movement.

There is a reason Jesus taught that Ceasar and God were distinct and seperate realms. The unholy marriage between the GOP and Christian extremist have dragged faith into the mud pit of racist, mysoginistic, xenophobic and homophobic politics. Its time for all Christians to wash off the mud of politics and return to faith and service.”

by ABratt

Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo wants low taxes for everyone, federal funding cuts to non-essential programs, and a repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

******************

His opponent, Democrat Brad Morris of Oxford, demands higher taxes on the rich, sustained funding for programs aiding the middle class, and implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

ABratt's Opinion:
Mr. Morris's Plan will work to take us Forward.
Mr. Nunnelee's Plan will work to take us Backward.

Brad Morris 2012!

"This really is no mystery. More and more people, and especially young people, look at organized religion, and they see the very things that the churches supposedly preach AGAINST. They see hypocrisy, they see discrimination, they see a 'holier than thou' attitude, and most of all they see a tremendous and obvious lack of love, caring, and compassion on the part of both the members and the leaders, but especially the leaders. This is why I left organized religion decades ago."

"Today's mainstream religious leaders, and especially the Fundamentalists, like Taliban Tim Wildmon, have totally perverted the message that Jesus taught and the example He set. Jesus didn't castigate the ones considered the worst sinners and dregs of society; instead He called on them to be His disciples and His followers. Jesus understood their problems and their frailties, and their circumstances, and while He reproved their sins, He made it clear that He loved them."

"Religious leaders today know only Fire and Brimstone, condemnation, and they have involved themselves in politics to achieve their religious goals, use scare tactics to fleece their followers of their money, preach intolerance of those they disagree with, and all the while they themselves are the biggest sinners of them all."

[Thanks for your comment, FrereJocqes, you nailed it! --AB]
