Special thanks to Hayden Sowers for handling Houston's Sunday afternoon teleconference. We are heading to the airport now. Never flown on a red-eye before. Should be interesting. Presser tomorrow, open week then the Rebels are at home against Alabama.

- PA

Q:  Houston do you think you found your guy in Randall?

A: “It looks like it right now, just very proud of the way he executed. Thought he stood in the pocket very well and went through his reads and when it broke down he took off and avoided the sack and made some real big plays for us, and we are real proud of the way he played.”

Q:  How did you come out with injuries?

A: “I don’t know right now. We didn’t get in until 8 o’clock so I let them all sleep until 5, so I really won’t know until 5 o’clock.”

Q:  How big is this bye week for yall?

A: “I think it’s really, really big. Comes at a time we can take advantage of get everybody really completely healthy as we go into the teeth of our schedule so it always helps us. Especially the ones who have been injured and now they can get a little extra treatment, little extra rest and be able to get some things done during practice time this week to be able to get better.”

Q:  How big was the win against Fresno? Just to calm the waters and have everything a little less stressful? Do you think it’s easier on you and the team?

A: “It definitely is much easier on the team. I think you know because you’ve been it long enough, that if you don’t win that game then you could imagine what people would write.  It’s just the negativity, and it starts to get in your mind as a team. That was the one thing I was proud of, we got behind 7-0, 14-13, and boy they kept fighting. That’s a really good sign, and they kept executing so to answer your question to go that many miles and play a ballgame against a team that has been to a bowl last 10, 11 years straight, that was a huge win for us, especially for our psyche.”

Q:  Talk a little bit about Donte Moncrief just coming up big again and he kinda looked like he had a nice burst on his reception. Just talk about him some more.

A: “He really did show a tremendous burst on that screen for us, and he has made some big catches for us. We saw it all the way through camp and now these freshman receivers, him, Brassell, Tobias, Collins, all of the freshman I’ve been very very proud of. Donte has been very mature with his work ethic, his attitude he’s been very unselfish with his blocking downfield so he is a tremendous playmaker, going to be something special.”

Q:  Can you talk about the decision to start Alex Washington at guard and how did he perform?

A: “Alex just gives you a little bit more knowledge and experience, but Aaron (Morris) is right there,  Aaron and Patrick Junen both are guys that we are not afraid to put in the game. They are good players, they are just young. Alex just has a little bit more experience, and they way teams are moving around on us so much we just felt like he gave us the best chance in there consistently of doing what we needed to do.”
