From Time.com's Moneyland blog:

Redbox, the DVD and video game rental kiosk service with nearly 30,000 locations around the U.S., has extended a free video game rental offer through Thursday, March 8. That same Thursday is also the day that Redbox is offering a free DVD rental to all customers.

When Redbox first announced its Game Week promotion, the special offer was set to expire on March 1. The promotion has since been made available for an extra week.

Through Thursday, March 8, Redbox customers will get the first day’s video game rental for free if they reserve and pay for it in advance online or via Redbox’s iPhone or Android apps. Rentals usually cost $2 plus tax, so the freebie represents a $2 value.

For additional days, customers will be charged the usual $2 per day. The list of available games includes “UFC 3,” “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations,” “Just Dance 3,” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii consoles.

Thursday, March 8, also marks a momentous “Free Movie Night” for Redbox. To celebrate the recent milestone of renting of its 2 billionth DVD, Redbox is offering customers one free night’s DVD rental. You can head to Redbox’s Facebook page for details on how to get your freebie, or here’s a cheat sheet: Just punch in the promo code “THANKS2U” in a Redbox kiosk on Thursday, and the freebie (value: $1.20 plus tax) is yours. Each additional day’s rental costs $1.20 apiece.
