It was quite the busy day on MSU's campus Friday, and I was on hand to document a good bit of it. And document I did.

• It started with spring football practice, the first of the year for State. You can CLICK HERE to read my account, which focused on the redshirt freshmen and their hopes of getting on the field this fall.

There's more to my coverage than that. If you didn't see them, I took several post-practice videos, and you can watch them by clicking on the following names: Johnthan Banks, Tyler Russell and Dan Mullen.

All those guys will be back out on the field this morning for practice No. 2, so I'll have more football coverage coming your way soon.

• On the baseball diamond, the Bulldogs whipped up on No. 3 Arkansas last night, 11-2 (CLICK HERE). Sophomore Hunter Renfroe had the big game, with two home runs and four RBIs, and pitcher Chris Stratton tossed seven strong innings.

I've got videos of both – just click on their names above to watch.

Game 2 is set for 2 p.m. today, so I'll be pulling the old double duty again. Starting on the mound for MSU will be junior left-hander Nick Routt (1-2, 4.05 ERA).

• There was a good bit else going on yesterday, like the SEC/Big 10 Challenge at the Maddox Track Facility. There were seven other schools on hand, including five Big 10 teams. The MSU men picked up seven victories, including in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. The women earned a pair of wins thanks to Favian Cowards (hammer throw) and Keisha Wallace (100-meter hurdles).

• In tennis, the No. 12-ranked men's team went down to Gainesville and knocked off No. 11 Florida, 4-3. The Bulldogs improved to 13-4 overall, 4-1 in SEC play. The women didn't fare so well, falling to No. 2 Florida, 7-0. Also, the softball squad lost 8-0 to Tennessee.
