Tom's Automotive Service will offer a free class Saturday to help women understand their vehicles better.

Jay Robertson of Tom's said the class will teach women about car parts and manufacturer-recommended maintenance. In addition, Tom's will serve refreshments and will give away prizes, such as free oil changes and other auto services.

Items on the agenda:

  • What is a brake job and why you do them?
  • What is an alignment?
  • How do you check your oil?
  • How is a car fender painted?
  • How does the computer diagnostics system work?

The class isn't hands-on, so women don't have to wear anything special beyond comfortable shoes.
