Finney's restaurant in Tupelo now takes plastic.

The old-fashioned sandwich shop has only taken cash or checks since 1981.

But, owner David Burgett said he and his wife made the payment change earlier this year.

"It seems nobody carries cash any more," he said.

Business has picked up since he started taking credit and debit cards, he said.

Finney's still takes checks, but Burgett said he's trying to minimize their usage.
