Finney’s Sandwiches

Finney’s Sandwiches has its roots in the sandwich counter at the former TKE drugstore in downtown Tupelo. Paul Finney worked at TKE’s counter, and in 1981, branched out and opened his own business.

More than 30 years later, owners Debra and David Burgett stay true to the restaurant’s heritage.

“We do it the old-fashioned way,” David said. “We really cook.”

The Burgetts said everything is chopped and cooked fresh every day.

The best-selling burgers are patted by hand every morning.

And despite its name, Finney’s serves more than sandwiches. Other popular menu items are the potato salad, the fresh-squeezed lemonade, hand-dipped milkshakes, hand-grated pimento cheese sandwiches, homemade pies and daily specials.

Plus, Finney’s is the food supplier to the Lee County Library’s monthly Lunching with Books event.

“We’re not fancy – just plain good,” David said.

And as of this year, Finney’s accepts credit and debit cards.
