STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi State tight end Marcus Green has been granted a sixth season of eligibility by the NCAA.

The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Scooba native has played in 28 games throughout his career, including 15 starts. He was limited to just two games in both 2008 and 2010 because of injuries. He played in all 13 games last season, catching 11 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown.

The university announced the NCAA's decision on Thursday. Green will likely split time at tight end next season with sophomores Malcolm Johnson and Brandon Hill.
