Long died of a shotgun wound about 9:20 p.m. Thursday, said Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon.
The sheriff’s office has not released any other details about the incident that happened on C.R. 116 west of Tishomingo, but a suspect is in custody and the case remains under investigation.
The body is being taken to Jackson for autopsy, Wilemon said.
