Tuesday update:

We got this email over the weekend about the new retail business and restaurant:

I just saw on your blog post about Sweet Tea & Biscuits Cafe and wanted to tell you that it is located in Joyful Creations Gift Market.

Joyful Creations Gift Market is a unique gift shop featuring a variety of curious vintage, new, and resurrected items, innovative accessories, and delightful gifts.

We plan to open on Tuesday, September 4. Hours are 10:00 til 6:00 Tuesday through Saturday. Sweet Tea & Biscuits will be serving lunch from 11:00 til 2:00 Tuesday through Saturday.

Friday's post:

A new restaurant is scheduled to open Tuesday in the former Flowerdale Marketplace.

It’s called Sweet Tea & Biscuits, according to health department records. It scored an “A” on its first inspection (previous coverage).

The restaurant’s address is 2025 McCullough Blvd.

The building became vacant after Flowerdale Marketplace in June moved to a smaller building on Industrial Road. Owner Alice Rogers kept the retail side of the business but closed the cafe.

We went by the McCullough business today and saw people stocking the front area of the building. It looks like they are going to have some sort of retail area for accessories and decor. We'll see soon enough.
