Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the county road late Sunday night in relation to a possible gunshot victim. A man was found shot in the shoulder, and he was taken to the North Mississippi Medical Center. Investigators were called to the scene and determined a verbal altercation had occurred between two neighbors, and a suspect, Scott C. May, 41, of Saltillo, had pulled a pistol and shot the victim.
May was immediately taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $75,000 on Monday.
The victim is in stable condition.
May had previously been convicted of a third driving under the influence charge.

UPDATE: - Scott C. May has been charged with Aggravated Assault in connection with the incident, according to a Lee County Sheriff Department press release. More will be released later today.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson confirmed that one person was in custody Sunday night after a shooting on County Road 683 near Saltillo.
The shooting victim was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center with a small-caliber gunshot wound to the back. The injury did not appear to be life-threatening. No names have been released at this time.
The sheriff said the incident was under investigation and more details would be released on Monday.
