Police Chief Bryan Dawsey tells the Picayune Item (http://bit.ly/VgM0Pc) that 33-year-old Travis Ronald Matlock was arrested Sunday on multiple charges including touching a child for lustful purposes.
Dawsey says a guard found Matlock in his cell Tuesday night. Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage says Matlock was pronounced dead at the scene.
Turnage says an autopsy determined the cause of death was due to self-inflicted hanging.
Dawsey declined to release any further details pending an investigation.
