TUPELO - Police are searching for a man who robbed Renasant Bank on South Veterans Boulevard late this afternoon.

A white male with a baseball hat, gray shirt and jeans walked in the bank and handed the teller a note instructing the teller to hand over money.

He didn't display a weapon but implied one with the note.

Tupelo Detective Lt. Jerry Davis said the man left with an undetermined amount of money. Police were on the scene at 5 p.m. but the man had fled by the time the teller was able to make a call.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-773-8477.

Davis said there is no description of the vehicle the suspect fled in at this time.
