CORINTH - Henry Story ,79, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Clarksville, Tenn., to Nolan and Ethel Story. He was a retired preacher serving 44 years in the Methodist Conference. He was a graduate of Blue Mountain College and Memphis Theological Seminary. He started serving at Mt. Carmel in the Wenasoga community. Throughout the years, he was chaplain for Alcohol and Drug Center in Columbus and chaplain and counselor for Methodist Outreach in Memphis, Tenn. He was Director and chaplain for the Wesley Foundation at MS Delta Community College and also taught bible classes at NEMCC. He pastored several church in North Mississippi including Ripley Circuit, Calvary Church in New Albany, Grace and Liberty Churches in Booneville, St. Stevens in Columbus, Belmont and Dennis churches and Mineral Wells in Olive Branch. His most recent before his retirement, he served in the churches of Mt. Carmel, Indian Spring, Hopewell and Box Chapel in Corinth. He retired from Myrtle United Methodist. He was a US Air Force veteran. He enjoyed reading, music and spending time with his family.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. today at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors with Bro. Bobby Whiteside and Bro. Nelson Hight officiating. Burial will follow in the Forrest Memorial Park.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Glen) Fowler of Corinth, Kim (Ray) Wallace of Memphis, Tenn.; son, Jeff (Deni) Story of Willimgton, N.C.; sister-in-law, Gail (Joe) Doty of Corinth; grandchildren, Kristen, Hunter, J.B., Mitchell, Will, Lilli, Emma, Jack, Shelly, Erin, Elizabeth, Adrienne, Ryan and Nigel; and great-grandchildren, Jude and John.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jeanette McCalla Story; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends from noon to 2:15 p.m. today at the funeral home.

VERONA - Corene Shaw Williams died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at her home after a long illness. She was a retired licensed practical nurse at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in Cruger, she was the daughter of Raimond and Betsy Enochs Shaw. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a founder and served faithfully until her death.
At the church, she was president of Pastor's Aid, the Kitchen Committee and Missionary Board. She was a graduate of Bruce High School in Bruce and Valley State College in nursing (LPN). She enjoyed cooking and feeding friends in the community.
Her body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. today, with the Life Celebration Service to begin at noon with Grayson-Porter's Mortuary in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Tyrone Macintosh will officiate. Burial will be at Porter's Memorial Park.
The widow of Bryant Williams, she also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mable Hobson Cruthirds and Louise Harris Humphrey; and a brother, Theodis Harris.
Survivors include her sisters, Fannie Lyons (Charles) of Dallas, Texas, Mary Cooper of Nashville, Tenn., Margie Jones of Calhoun City; her brother, Theodis Harris of Nashville; special friends, Julius Foote (Mary), Bobbie J. Bar and Sandra Burnes, all of Tupelo and a host of nephews and nieces.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Timothy Allen 'Tim' Farr, 58, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was born Oct. 19, 1953, in Tennessee. He was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church in Memphis. He was a radio announcer/disc jockey for Cumulus Broadcasting.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. David Love officiating. Burial will be in Cornersville Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Sybil Cooper Farr of New Albany; one sister, Valerie Fair (Larry) of New Albany; one niece, Lauren Garrett (Daniel) of New Albany; and one nephew, Logan Fair of Flowood, MS. He was preceded in death by his Father: Preston O. Farr.

TISHOMINGO - Merle A. Trimm, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Tippah County Health Services in Ripley. He was born April 28, 1918, in Tishomingo to Charles Louis and Annie Lancaster Trimm. He was a member and former Elder of Liberty Church of Christ and later attended Tiplersville Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving during WWII, former commander of the American Legion in Tishomingo and served in the National Guard for 19 years. He assisted with many military funeral services by presenting flags to the family members of deceased veterans. He was a former Board of Alderman for the Town of Tishomingo and a board member of the Tishomingo County Power Association.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Church of Christ in Dennis, with Ron Deaton, Garry Martin, Sean McPherson and Kelly McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters, Lou Ann Greene (Donnie) of Ripley, Sue McPherson of Hendersonville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Beth Ward (Steve), Sean McPherson (Mandy), Kelly McPherson (Carisa) and Jamie Greene; three great-grandchildren, Sadie Grace, Sayer and Seelie McPherson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Montez Trimm; his parents; a son-in-law, Roman McPherson; and his father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Ludia Strickland.

MARIETTA - Boyd Wayne Hunkapiller, 63, of Marietta died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Booneville. He was born Nov. 11, 1948, to Randle and Dora Taylor Hunkapiller. He was a retired factory worker and he attended East Marietta Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Russell and Bro. Ray Hall officiating. Burial will be in Sumners Chapel Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Sue Jackson Hunkapiller; one son, Anthony (Sandy) Hunkapiller of Marietta; one sister, Deann Davis of Booneville; six grandchildren, Tony Hunkapiller, Brittany Hunkapiller, Josh Hunkapiller, Matthew Hunkapiller, Roman Hunkapiller and James Hunkapiller.

PONTOTOC - Dale Bevill Anderson, 95, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at her residence in Thaxton. She was born on Dec. 24, 1916, in the Hurricane Community to Earnest and Lura Dillard Russell. She married her first husband, Robert Bevill on April 10, 1938, and raised two special daughters and after his passing she married Leon Anderson and shared many wonderful years before his passing. She was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother and a very special grandmother. She was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church of Pontotoc where she helped start a Women's Bible Study on Tuesday morning and continued to come until she wasn't physically able. She loved her church family and loved being together. Before coming to Green Valley, she taught a Ladies Sunday School class at Oak Dale Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Oak Dale Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Thompson and Bro. Gary Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home of Pontotoc in charge of arrangements.
She leaves behind two daughters, Jan Bragg(Gene) and Pat Miles; two stepdaughters, Iva Jo Bishop(Nicky) and Patricia Moore (Mike), all of Pontotoc; two stepsons, Bobby Anderson (Jane) of Memphis, Tenn., and Ray Anderson (Nedra) of Pontotoc; three grandchildren, Debra Bragg (fiance, Don) of Bolingbrook, Ill., Davina Bragg of Tupelo and Tonya Hitt (Cory) of Pontotoc; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Hitt of Pontotoc; seven step-grandchildren and; 14 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Robert Bevill and Leon Anderson; two sons, James Ralph Bevill and Roger O'Neil Bevill; and one son-in-law John Miles.

AMORY - Margaret L. Cook, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in the Quincy Community on Jan. 13, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Clinton E. and Audrey Howell Hill.
In 1946, she married Curtis H. Cook Sr. After years of traveling with her military husband and four sons, she returned to her family home in Amory. Mrs. Cook made many friends while working at Amory Garment, Sterling's and Black's before retiring at age 62. Her church families were Baptist and Methodist at different stages of her life. During the last several years, she enjoyed many wonderful friends and family who enjoyed spending time with her. We will miss her good humor and infectious laugh.
Survivors include two sons, Curtis H. Cook Jr. of Bolton, Conn., and David L. Cook of Tupelo; her daughters-in-law, Linda Cook and Shirley Cook; her brother, Clinton (Bo) Hill of Athens and his wife, Sue; six grandchildren, Kristie, Casey, Stacey, Julie, Jacey and Jason; and 12 great-grandchildren in Illinois, Connecticut and Mississippi. She enjoyed many hours during her last years with a special friend, Cathy Moffett, a special niece, Joyce and Larry Armstrong, a special cousin, Patricia Pinkerton, and tender, loving care provided by Shirley Camp.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. A brief graveside service will follow in Hatley Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband and two teenage sons, George and Wesley, who passed away in 1966. Following the graveside service, friends and family are invited to gather at her home for food and fellowship.
Pallbearers will be David Cook, Curtis Cook, Bo Hill, Butch Moffett, Luke Moffett, Stephen Armstrong, Jimmy Ashley and John Blake Riddle.

WALNUT - Evelyn Marie Parker Wilbanks, 77, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1935, to David Allen and Alene Bell Parker. She was a member of Walnut Baptist Church. She was retired from McGregors Manufacturing and Walnut Elementary and High School cafeteria. Along side her beloved husband, she also worked in Wilbanks Cabinet Shop. She was a devoted wife to her belated husband of fifty-six years, a mentor and loving mother to her two sons and a loving grandmother of five. She never met a stranger, loved all and was loved by many.
