South Lee Schools will dismiss early Monday due to funeral

Schools on the southern end of Lee County will dismiss early on Monday so that staff and students can attend the funeral of Plantersville Middle Principal Bill Horton, who died on Friday. Horton, 65, was found dead at his home.

Shannon Primary, Shannon Elementary, Shannon Middle, Shannon High, Verona Elementary and Plantersville Middle will all be on a 60-percent day and will dismiss around noon.

Horton’s funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc.
