KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ole Miss guard Nick Williams is the only member of the Rebels’ senior trio that did not begin his career at Ole Miss.

Murphy Holloway transferred away and transferred back, but both he and Reggie Buckner were there in the beginning.

Williams, a Mobile, Ala., native, started out at Indiana and was exposed to a very different style of play, one with which Wisconsin will try to end his career today.

The Rebels will try to get up and down the floor as much as they can today, while the Badgers will try to make it a halfcourt game.

The difference in style is not just a myth, Williams says.

“It’s very real. I remember playing Wisconsin twice. It was different than what I’m used to now with everybody being into the shot clock all the time. The Big 10 is a slow game, dragging. It’s a fight to score points in that style.”

Summers cleared to play

Sophomore point guard Jarvis Summers is expected to play today.

He has been held out since late in the Missouri game in the quarterfinal round of the SEC tournament when he sustained a concussion.

Summers practiced on Wednesday for the first time since the injury.

“It feels great right now. Some days I wake up, and it’s throbbing. I just have to take my medicine, eat something and go on,” he said.

He appeared in 32 games this season with 29 starts and is averaging 9.3 points and 3.8 assists.

Not looped in

It seemed that no one involved with the Ole Miss-Wisconsin game escaped a question about Marshall Henderson.

Wisconsin players tread lightly around the topic.

Senior forward Mike Bruesewitz was asked what he thought Henderson and his “antics” bring to the game.

“We’ve watched a lot of film on him,” Bruesewitz responded. “Whatever antics you’re referring to, I really don’t know.”
