While the balloons were grounded Saturday afternoon at the first Up, Up and Away Hot Air Balloon Festival, Elvis stylist Jack Curtis took the Ballard Park stage. Accompanied by his band and singers, Curtis rocked the park. It was my first time to see Curtis perform, and my impression during the first song was, "This guy's great." Also pictured are backup singers, from left, Karen Irwin, Dana Finch and Tony Finch.

Daily Journal photographer Deste Lee contributed photos 11 and 13 of the slideshow. The 13th photo features Logan Irwin and Jackson Finch (sons of the backup singers) playing air guitars in front of the stage. The final photo is one I took of a young girl who danced in front of the stage when Curtis performed his first few songs.
