HOULKA – The Houlka Wildcats are having a positive summer, picking up a win against Hamilton last week, 5-1, in varsity action.
The JV shutout the Lions, 6-0, in their game, adding fuel to a productive fire.
The Cats started the week at 6-1 for the summer season, but like every other team, are at the mercy of the weather for playing time, with afternoon showers determining games late in the day.
The Wildcats were scheduled to host Bruce Monday and travel to East Webster Tuesday. They will be back at home Thursday as they host Vardaman.
Coach Jimmy Guy McDonald agreed the schedule is busy for June, but summer ball sets the cornerstone for next spring’s team.
“Once we get through June, we’ll get a little break,” McDonald said.
