The Hebron Lady Eagles got off to a quick start on the diamond, beginning the fast-pitch season before classes even resume.

After starting off with a big win over Jackson Academy, the girls struggled against Winston Academy last week, taking two losses but gaining some good experience.
“They (Winston) are a good AA team,” coach Cass Tapley said. “Though we didn’t win, it made us a better team.”
Tapley said errors cost the Lady Eagles in the first game and WA’s hitting proved too much in the second.
“We did improve defensively in the second game,” Tapley said. “Brooke has continued to throw strikes for us and our hitting is coming around.”
The young team is making strides and Tapley hopes their desire and drive will be enough for success.
“Whether this is good enough to win games or just be competitive, I don’t know, but we are improving,” Tapley said.
