American_OBIT_flag_2a_310ZBRUCE – Zerrel Thomas Bond, 81, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Calhoun County. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW. He was a retired machinist for Weyerhaeuser. He attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Bro Will Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Kitchens (Leslie) of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one son, Tony Bond (Freddie) of Eads, Tenn.; one grandchild, Brad Cole of Carthage; two stepgrandchildren, Whitney Maddox of Houston, Texas, and Joshua Merchant of Sherman, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Cole, Randy Cole, Cotton Cole and Miles Merchant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Nelson Bond and Mary “”Deamy”” Logan Bond, and a brother, Carol W. Bond.
Pallbearers will be Phil Bond, Tommy Bond, Brad Cole, Randy Cole, Tyler Cole and Leslie Kitchens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
