Nettie Bumgart

DERMA – Nettie Mae Brassfield Bumgart, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at her daughter’s home. She was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Calhoun County to Evans Brassfield and Vivian Sewell Brassfield. She was a homemaker and a member of Derma Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Poynor of Banner, Teresa Morphis of Derma and Norma Davidson of Bruce; three sons, Jasper Bumgart and James Ray Bumgart of Calhoun City and Thomas Earl Bumgart of Pittsboro; three sisters, Thelma Bumgart of Derma, Beth Dove of Arcadia, La., and Rebecca Edward of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; three brothers, Carl Brassfield of Granite, Ill., Leon Brassfield of Ripley, Tenn., and Robert Brassfield of Duck Hill; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Bumgart; one sister; and two brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City. The Rev. John Warren will officiate. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery in Calhoun City.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Brassfield, Lonnie Morphis, Kelly Davidson, Rob Hollis, Damon Bumgart and Bobby Blackmon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
