Joe Graves

American_OBIT_flag_2a_310ZHOULKA – Joseph Newell “”Joe”” Graves, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his home in Houlka. He was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Houlka to Jesse Grady Graves and Anice Newell Graves. He was a retired electrical engineer for TVA and a member of Houlka Presbyterian Church. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and a member of the Houlka Lions Club.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Houlka Presbyterian Church in Houlka with Bill Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Houston Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his sons, Charles Robert and Kathy Graves of Fairfax, Va., Joseph Raymond “”Ray”” Graves of Houlka, George Andrew “”Andy”” Graves and Rose Marie Boarman of Atlanta, Ga., Jason “”Shane”” and Samantha Graves of Houlka; his brother, Robert Newell “”Bob”” and Helen Graves of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Leslie Owens, Logan Graves, Seth Graves, Daniel Graves, Eric Graves; and his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Lutey, Hunter Graves and Lillie Graves.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Easley Graves, on April 7, 2007; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at Houlka Presbyterian Church.
