Chieftains edge Wildcats, ladies win over Bruce

The Chieftains had a mixed bag of success on the floor last week as they took a couple of non-division wins, but fell to the Bruce Trojans in their district game.
The Chiefs picked up a 59-53 win over West Oktibbeha Jan. 11 and fought a fierce battle with the Houlka Wildcats Jan. 17.
The Chiefs trailed by two at the half, but made up the difference in the fourth quarter to take a 56-53 win. Curtis Green led for Okolona with 16 points followed by Rod Jones with 12.
The Lady Chiefs trailed a the half and had a big 19-point third quarter to inch up on the Lady Wildcats, but couldn’t keep their momentum going and fell 45-50 on the road.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Chieftains snagged a win over the Lady Trojans of Bruce.
The boys team wrapped their week with a 52-66 non-division loss to West Point.

Upcoming action
The Chiefs and Lady Chiefs will stay on the road this week traveling to Calhoun City for division play Friday and participating in the Aberdeen touranment Saturday.web ok1 web ok2
