Donald James

American_OBIT_flag_2a_310ZBIG CREEK – Donald Kent James, 83, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora. He was born Dec. 4, 1930, in Webster County to Fred Eugene James and Nona Chamblee James.
He was a self-employed farmer and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired U.S. Army sergeant and a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Anderson James of Big Creek; daughter, Angela (Joe) Hays of Walthall; son, Phillip (Melissa) James of Ellisville, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Bradford Chapel Baptist Church in Calhoun City with the Rev. Chris Conlee officiating. Burial was in Bradford Chapel Cemetery. Pryor Funeral Home of Calhoun City is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Joe Hays, Steve Parker, Thomas James, Steve Swindoll, Zach Hays and James Sidney Warner.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The body was in repose one hour prior to service at the church
