Ladean Box

rp_American_OBIT_flag_2a_310Z-300x2251.jpgBRUCE – Ladean Box, 89, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Houlka.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of DAV and VFW. He was a retired farmer and cattleman, and a member of Bruce First Baptist Church and the Bruce Antioch Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Bruce Cemetery. Dr. Daniel Hathorne will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Ferguson Box of Bruce; one daughter, Bobbye Mason (Larry) of Bruce; two brothers, Roy Box (Betty) of Bruce and Paul Box of Memphis; one sister, Ore Mae Ferguson of Bruce; two granddaughters, La Dena Hood (Mike) of Brandon and Elizabeth Brinson (Matthew) of Brandon; three great-grandchildren, Mason Hood, Michael Hood and Hayes Brinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Terry Box and Roxie Brasher Box; three sisters, Helen Williams Welch, Hazel Snellings and Floy Ruth Parker; and three brothers, Durant Box, Ray Box and Hoyt Box.
