Monema Cornelius

ECRU – Monema McPhail Cornelius, 94, formally of Slate Springs, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Hospice. She was born April 11, 1920, in Slate Springs, the daughter of Robert Fuller McPhail and Opal Rushing McPhail. She was a member of Cairo Baptist Church in Ecru.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with the Rev. Steve Parrish and the Rev. Marty Browning officiating. Burial was in Old Bethany Cemetery in Webster County. Pryor Funeral Home of Calhoun City is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, James Clovis Macon and wife, Joyce of Forrest City, Ark.; one daughter, Lisa Cornelius Hudson and husband, Micheal of Ecru; five grandchildren, Judy Macon of Forrest City, Ark., Robbie Macon Lynn (Gino) of Sherwood, Ark., Alissa Hudson Hale (Chris) of Pontotoc, Jessica Hudson Kitchens (John) of Pontotoc and David Stubblefield (Joyce); and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Leslie Macon and Bert Cornelius; daughter, Martha Ailene Stubblefield; and son-in-law, John W. Stubblefield.
Pallbearers were Michael Hudson, John Kitchens, Chris Hale, Gino Lynn, Dustin Kindler and Jacob Holcomb.
