JUMPERTOWN – Baldwyn (19-0) is the last unbeaten boys team in Mississippi. Rival Booneville gets a shot to end the run tonight and carry home a trophy.
The Daily Journal’s top two teams square off in the Prentiss County Tournament championship at 7:30 p.m. in Jumpertown.
Baldwyn beat Jumpertown 70-33 in Friday’s semifinal to advance in the packed approximately 1,000-seat capacity Jumpertown gym.
Tonight’s crowd is expected to be standing room only.
“We know the intensity surrounding Baldwyn-Booneville, but we also have a tremendous respect for Booneville,” Baldwyn coach Jason McKay said. “They’ve got a great ballclub. That’s an understatement.”
