IAHS’ Shumpert made most of MSU debut

Former IAHS Indian, Tupelo Golden Waver and Daily Journal Offensive Player of the Year Ashton Shumpert had quite the Mississippi State debut Saturday, a pair of scores and nearly 100 yards rushing.

Thrilled for the guy. He was a pleasure to deal with during our weekly visits for the Recruiting Diary last season.

Here is the story from our Logan Lowery.

I’ve said numerous times the guy can be a star at running back for the Bulldogs. Props to Mullen and Co. for not taking the ball from him. Don’t get me wrong. Shumpert is valuable in the defensive secondary as well, but if you watched him once in high school, he’s a no-doubt ball-carrier.
