On the Links: Catching Up on Recruiting

Good Friday morning, people. We’re a mere 19 days away from national signing day (Feb. 6), and MSU’s coaches are hot on the recruiting trail trying to polish off what’s looking like a pretty strong class.

In today’s Journal, I set the table as far as where things stand and where things may go for MSU and the 2013 signing class. It’s a highly ranked group – 15th in the country according to 247Sports.com. (It was 14th when I wrote the story yesterday, and has dropped a spot since then.) State would like to nab another QB, and there are 10 to 12 prospects in all being targeted to fill a handful of spots.

You can see the entire 22-man MSU commitment list right here.

Stay tuned for more developments. Always something crazy happening this time of year.

• Don’t forget, MSU’s basketball team visits Tennessee on Saturday (3 p.m., SEC Network). I’ll have a preview in Saturday’s Journal, and I’ll be providing coverage from Knoxville.

I am the online content coordinator for DJournal.com. Previously at the Journal, I covered Mississippi State athletics (2008-13), high schools (2004-08), and was on the copy desk (2002-04). I'm working on a recipe for bacon-flavored coffee, which would solve all the world's problems.
