Video: Ray, Sword and Ware Address A&M, Confidence

Hey, we had a basketball press conference this afternoon, per usual, and so of course I have some videos to share. First up is coach Rick Ray, whose Bulldogs (7-11, 2-4 SEC) host Texas A&M (12-7, 2-4) on Wednesday followed by a home game Saturday versus LSU (10-7, 1-5). After Ray, it’s guard Craig Sword (at left) and center Gavin Ware.

It seems the Bulldogs are having a crisis of confidence.

“I thought we lacked some enthusiasm,” Ray said of the Florida game, which MSU lost 82-47 on Saturday. “More importantly, I really didn’t feel that our guys thought that they could win that game. I didn’t think they had a belief in themselves. In order for us to be successful, we’ve got to believe in ourselves, and I didn’t think we had that against Florida, so we’ve got to get that back.”

More coverage coming in Tuesday’s Journal.

I am the online content coordinator for I also co-host The Memo and Prep Rally podcasts and host the Newsbreak program. Previously at the Journal, I covered Mississippi State athletics (2008-13), high schools (2004-08), and was on the copy desk (2002-04).
