Lindgren Has Bone Bruise, Cohen ‘Optimistic’ He’ll Return for LSU Series

Mississippi State pitcher Jacob Lindgren got some good news today: An MRI revealed that the sophomore left-hander has a bone bruise on his left knee but that there is no damage to his bone or ligaments.

Lindgren, No. 13 MSU’s Friday night starter, took a line drive off his knee just two batters into Friday’s game versus Central Arkansas. Coach John Cohen said he is “optimistic” that Lindgren will be available to pitch this weekend when No. 7 LSU (15-1) visits Starkville to open SEC play.

On the season, Lindgren is 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA.
