Mississippi State’s Craig Sword and Gavin Ware have been named to the SEC all-freshman team by the league’s coaches, it was announced today.
It’s the second consecutive year MSU has had a player on the all-freshman team. Rodney Hood, who’s now at Duke, made the squad last season.
Sword is averaging a team-leading 10.3 points per game, plus 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals. Ware, a Starkville native, is averaging 8.6 points and 6.4 rebounds and shooting 54.6 percent from the floor. Both players have been regular starters this season.
