Graveman Named SEC Pitcher of the Week

Mississippi State senior right-hander Kendall Graveman was named the SEC pitcher of the week, the league office announced this afternoon.

Graveman (4-2, 1.99 ERA) tossed a complete-game shutout against Florida on Saturday in a 2-0 MSU win. He allowed five hits, struck out two and walked two on 107 pitches. Graveman got 19 groundball outs, and he’s now thrown 19 consecutive scoreless innings versus Florida.

It was the second consecutive complete game for Graveman, who went the distance at Arkansas the previous Saturday. In SEC play, he’s 3-1 with a 1.55 ERA, and he’s the only MSU pitcher to make a start every weekend of the season as the No. 21-ranked Bulldogs (26-9, 5-7 SEC) deal with weekend rotation issues.

His next scheduled start is this weekend at Texas A&M.
