Audio: Holder Talks Saves Record, Being a Closer, and Johnny Cash

Hey y’all. Many of you know that I do this radio show during the week called LockeDown Corner, at, and that you can also listen on the free app. And from time to time I have guests on the show.

Today, I had MSU closer Jonathan Holder, who picked up his 14th save of the season in last night’s 3-2 win over Oral Roberts. That’s a school record for saves in a single season, and so I talked with Holder about that, but we hit on other topics as well. In fact, we spent a good amount of time discussing the way he’s embraced the role of closer and the persona that comes with it.

And he told the story behind choosing his walkout song, Johnny Cash‘s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.” It’s not a typical entrance tune for a closer, but it works very well. So anyway, if you missed it earlier, please give a listen to the interview, linked below.
