Bulldogs Jumps to No. 16 in Baseball America Poll

Mississippi State (40-16) enters the postseason as the No. 16 team in the country. That’s according to the latest Baseball America poll, which came out today.

The Bulldogs jumped eight spots from last week after beat Oral Roberts on Tuesday and taking two of three from South Carolina over the weekend. The Gamecocks fell three spots this week, to No. 17.

MSU and South Carolina could meet again Wednesday in the SEC Tournament. State, the No. 5 seed, plays No. 12 seed Missouri on Tuesday, and the winner draws the Gamecocks, who are the No. 4 seed and have a first-round bye.

Vanderbilt and LSU remained 1-2 in this week’s poll. Arkansas is No. 14, while Ole Miss dropped out this week.
