Video: UCA Ace McClanahan Feeling Strong, Confident

No. 14 Mississippi State will have to deal with lanky right-hander Caleb McClanahan (10-5, 2.17 ERA) in tomorrow’s NCAA Starkville Regional opener (7:05 p.m., I caught up with the senior after practice today to talk with him about his previous experience against MSU, playing in this type of environment, and how he feels after putting in a heavy workload the past couple of weeks.

He also said he’s got a new pitch he’s been working on, but wouldn’t say what it was.

“I’ll be bringing that out,” McClanahan said.

Earlier this year against State, McClanahan went 4 1/3 innings, giving up two runs (both earned) on three hits in a 4-2 MSU win.

I am the online content coordinator for Previously at the Journal, I covered Mississippi State athletics (2008-13), high schools (2004-08), and was on the copy desk (2002-04). I'm working on a recipe for bacon-flavored coffee, which would solve all the world's problems.
