Videos: Renfroe, Bracewell, Rea Talk About Omaha (and Possums)

Mississippi State had a full-blown press conference this afternoon a day before the team leaves for Omaha. The No. 14 Bulldogs (48-18) open College World Series play Saturday against Oregon State (50-11).

We caught up with head coach John Cohen, and I’ll have some highlights from his half-hour talk later. For now, let’s watch some videos of players Hunter RenfroeBen Bracewell and Wes Rea. You can listen to Renfroe and Rea talk about their possum-hunting expedition Monday night after getting back from Charlottesville.

“Wes was like, ‘Bet you can’t catch it.’ ‘I can catch that possum,’ so I went over there and caught it,” Renfroe said.

As for more important matters, the players are still trying to wrap their heads around the fact they’re in the College World Series.

“I don’t think it has sunk in,” Bracewell said. “We kind of decided on the bus on the way home that I don’t think it’s going to sink in until we walk on that field for the first time.”
