OMAHA, Neb. | A day after taking down Oregon State, MSU’s players seemed quite relaxed and comfortable as they took the practice field Sunday morning. The Bulldogs put in some work at Creighton University – Bob Gibson‘s alma mater – and appeared very loose. They’re getting ready for tomorrow’s game against Indiana (7 p.m., ESPN2).
After three whirlwind days – traveling here, opening ceremonies and playing a game – the players were finally able to take a breath today.
“Thursday and early that day Friday, the opening ceremonies, that was pretty crazy,” shortstop Adam Frazier said. “Now it’s kind of settled down, and we’re worried about playing.”
It appeared MSU had some first-game jitters early on against Oregon State, but the Bulldogs have moved well past that.
“It’s a big relief to finally get out there and actually play a game and experience it,” outfielder Hunter Renfroe said. “It was probably what we all expected – a lot of fans there, huge Bulldog support there. It was a lot of fun.”
I’ve got post-practice videos of Frazier (above) and Renfroe, as well as reliever Chad Girodo.
