OMAHA, Neb. | MSU was back at Creighton University this morning for a practice, one day after beating Oregon State to advance to the finals of the College World Series. The Bulldogs (51-18) open the best-of-three title series against UCLA (47-17) at 7 p.m. Monday.
John Cohen shared his thoughts on the Bruins, who don’t put up big offensive numbers but can pitch it and will capitalize on mistakes.
“They just don’t beat themselves,” Cohen said. “They wait for the other team to beat themselves, and then they jump right on it. In order to beat them you can’t give them that opportunity. That’s how good a club they are.”
I also caught up with first baseman Wes Rea, who’s having quite the CWS. He talked about the mindset of this team and facing UCLA.
