Recruiting: West Point’s Williams Commits to MSU

Mississippi State received a big commitment from a local kid this afternoon. According to multiple reports, Aeris Williams, a running back from West Point, made a verbal commitment to MSU today.

Williams is the 14th member of the Bulldogs’ 2014 commitment class. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports, and he also held offers from Florida State, Ole Miss and Wisconsin.

Last season Williams led the Green Wave with 1,704 yards and 22 touchdowns, and he was named to the Daily Journal All-Area second team. West Point went 11-3 and lost to Starkville, 29-28, in the Class 5A North Half final. Williams rushed for 108 yards and scored all four of his team’s touchdowns that night.
