Video: Prescott Healing Up, Embraces ‘Other QB’ Role

STARKVILLE | One last video for you from this morning’s round of interviews. We caught up with backup quarterback Dak Prescott, who is getting back to full speed after toe surgery limited him in the spring.

“I’m about 100 percent ready to go, they’re just doing a good job of limiting some things I can do,” Prescott said. “It’s really just getting out there, getting everything back, getting comfortable, getting my feet back under me and enjoying being out there with my teammates.”

You can expect Prescott to play a significant role in the offense again this season. Last fall, as a redshirt freshman, he accounted for eight touchdowns – four passing, four rushing. He’s the No. 2 quarterback, although he said starter Tyler Russell has told him he’s not the backup, but rather the “other quarterback.”

In the video, Prescott talks about his relationship with Russell, plus his development as a player and managing emotions on the field.
