STARKVILLE | With MSU’s season opener against Oklahoma State drawing ever closer, the chatter will increase about one matchup in particular: The Bulldogs’ secondary versus the Cowboys’ prolific passing attack. Okie State ranked seventh in the nation in passing last season, averaging 331.7 yards per game.
We spoke with safety Jay Hughes and cornerback Cedric Jiles after today’s practice, and they expressed confidence in their ability to keep the Cowboys in check.
“We look forward to the challenge,” Jiles said. “We’re ready to step up and make plays and show the world what we’ve got.”
