Video: Mullen Pleased with Scrimmage Work Indoors

STARKVILLE | Today was our last media availability before game week begins. We caught up with head coach Dan Mullen and a few other people, and right now we’ll focus on what Mullen had to say.

After working the last couple of days in the heat, MSU went inside the Palmeiro Center today and did some scrimmaging. It wasn’t full-contact work, and Mullen liked what he saw from an execution standpoint.

“Today was situational – a scrimmage situational deal,” he said. “Not live, but thudding up, and a lot of good-on-good, first downs, and just driving the field. More game-like deals. Tomorrow’s going to be a lot of situationals with third downs, two-point plays, red zone, goal line, wrapping up all of those final things with the good-on-good. …

“I thought today was a really good day. I was pleased with today. There’s still some things that we’ve got to get done with different people. But with the overall execution I was pleased, and the effort and the attitude at practice today.”

I’ve split Mullen up into two videos, so you’ll get to see and hear most of today’s post-practice interview. He also talked about the depth chart, quarterback Tyler Russell and Oklahoma State’s defense, among other things.
