The awards continue to roll in for Mississippi State this week.

Malcolm Johnson earned his second honor from the Kentucky game being named the John Mackey Tight End of the Week.

The junior from Tuscaloosa, Ala., caught four passes for 79 yards including a 60-yard touchdown from Dak Prescott during the first quarter. It was the second longest pass play the Bulldogs have had the season. Three of his catches went for first downs.

Johnson was also selected as the College Football Performance Awards Tight End of the Week on Monday. He has 14 catches for 191 yards and a touchdown on the year.

Honorable mentions for the John Mackey Tight End of the Week went to Gerald Christian of Louisville, Rob Blanchflower of Massachusetts and Gator Hoskins of Marshall.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
