STARKVILLE – Mississippi State’s annual five-game Bulldog World Series will begin Wednesday and run through Nov. 19 at Dudy Noble Field.

The Diamond Dogs have held 19 scrimmages already this fall and held a player draft Monday night in preparation for the best-of-five series. The winning team of the series will receive steak, lobster and baked potatoes while the losing team must dine on hot dogs with no condiments.

All five games will be played regardless if the series is clinched.

Sophomore right-hander John Marc Shelly is slated to start Wednesday’s 4 p.m. opener on the mound for the Maroon team while sophomore righty Preston Brown toes the rubber for the White squad.

The remainder of the series is scheduled as follows:

Game 2 – Fri. Nov. 15 5 p.m. – Maroon LHP C.T. Bradford (Sr.) vs. White RHP Ben Bracewell (Sr.)

Game 3 – Sat. Nov. 16 1 p.m. – Maroon RHP Brandon Woodruff (Jr.) vs. White RHP Austin Sexton (Fr.)

Game 4 – Sun. Nov. 17 1 p.m. – Maroon RHP Trevor Fitts (Jr.) vs. White RHP Dakota Hudson (Fr.)

Game 5 – Tues. Nov. 19 5 p.m. Maroon RHP John Marc Shelly (So.) vs. White RHP Preston Brown (So.)

Junior college transfer catcher Cody Walker leads MSU this fall with a .424 batting average while senior outfielder/ pitcher C.T. Bradford tops the team with 23 hits. Redshirt freshman catcher Daniel Garner had blasted a pair of home runs while senior infielder Alex Detz has driven in 18 runs.

Senior outfielder Demarcus Henderson is the club leader with six stolen bases.

Junior right-hander Brandon Woodruff has been masterful in two appearances this fall. Woodruff has a flawless ERA over 5.2 innings of work allowing just two hits.

Brown and freshman righty Dakota Hudson are tied for the team lead with 16 strikeouts apiece while freshman right-hander Austin Sexton has logged a fall-high 16.1 frames.
