Mississippi State freshman point guard IJ Ready will miss 2-4 weeks after injuring his hamstring during Thursday’s 78-55 win over Kennesaw State.

Ready left the game at the 5:27 mark of the fourth quarter and did not return. An MRI on Friday revealed the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder from Little Rock, Ark., had a strained, inflamed hamstring but there was no tear.

Ready has started both games for the Bulldogs this season shooting 50-percent from the floor and is averaging seven points, 2.5 rebounds and four assists per outing.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
