Three Mississippi State players found their names among the All-Freshmen and All-Sophomore teams by the College Football News.
Defensive lineman Chris Jones of Houston was a second team All-Freshman selection while linebacker Benardrick McKinney was picked as an All-Sophomore second teamer. Quarterback Dak Prescott was also recognized as an honorable mention for the All-Sophomore team.
Jones appeared in all 12 games for the Bulldogs this year earning three starts.
He finished with 31 tackles leading the team with seven tackles for loss and three sacks. Jones was also an honorable mention on the AP All-SEC team earlier this week.
McKinney started all 12 games leading the team with 70 tackles as well as six stops for loss, 2.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Prescott played in 10 games and made six starts completing 58.2-percent of his passes for 1,657 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He also led State with 751 yards rushing on 120 carries and 11 scores on the ground and caught two touchdowns.
