The awards continue to roll in for senior guard Gabe Jackson.

The 6-foot-4, 340-pounder has been named to seven All-American teams. Jackson earned first team honors from Bleacher Report and was a second team selection by the Associated Press, Walter Camp Football Foundation, CBSSports.com, USA Today and Athlon Sports.

“It’s been good,” Jackson said. “I’ve just been accepting everything and have been grateful for everything.”

Jackson has started every game of his MSU career and has not allowed a sack as a senior. He has started more games than any other FBS player.

The Liberty native also earned first team All-SEC from the league’s coaches, The Associated Press, ESPN, Athlon Sports and The Sporting News. Jackson also won the C Spire Conorly and Hull awards given annually to the top overall college player and offensive lineman in Mississippi.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
