Saturday saw three Mississippi State seniors participate in all-star showcases.

Running back LaDarius Perkins represented the Bulldogs in the East-West Shrine game in St. Petersburg, Fla. Perkins helped lead the East to victory with 114 all-purpose yards.

Perkins finished second on the team in rushing carrying four times for 21 yards. He also hauled in a pair of passes for 17 yards and returned three kickoffs for 76 yards.

Two other MSU players – linebacker Deontae Skinner and defensive end Denico Autry – played on the opposite coast in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Calif. Skinner and Autry were on the victorious National team which won 31-17.

Autry notched three tackles including a tackle for loss in the contest while Skinner was credited with a solo stop.

Offensive guard Gabe Jackson will play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 25 televised on the NFL Network.

I have covered Mississippi State in some capacity since 2004 and joined the Daily Journal staff in 2013. I enjoy short walks on the beach, performing concerts in my car and watching professional wrestling.
